In addition to federal student aid, you may also be able to qualify for state student aid from your local state government.  Most states have some form of student aid programs available and many states have several different programs. You can check with your state’s higher education authority to find out which state student aid programs are available in your area or you can search our database for Federal and State Grants or for Federal and State Loans. 

State and Regional Tuition Discounts – Many states have regional programs and tuition reciprocity agreements that allows students to attend out-of-state colleges at in-state tuition rates.

The first step to qualifying for federal, state or private financial aid programs is to apply with FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
